The Straight Front-Open Format — Where It Fits Best

The RMQKZ pairs the front-open service format with a straight glass front. It is the most economical configuration in R&M’s front-open range — the flat glass costs less than the curved panel, and the price difference is passed to the buyer.

Where this case fits best:

Freestanding counters with front service: A bakery or cake shop where the display case is freestanding — in the middle of the sales floor or at the end of a counter — and staff serve from the customer side. The front panel opens for service; the straight glass keeps the price down.

Multiple units in a line: A shop running two or three display cases in a row. The straight glass fronts line up cleanly edge to edge, forming one continuous display line. Curved fronts leave small gaps between units; straight fronts do not.

Budget-conscious front-open requirement: The RMQKZ gives the front-open service format at the lowest price in the R&M range. For a bakery that needs front service but does not need the premium look of curved glass, this is the cake display counter to order.

The Refrigerated Cake Display Counter at 2–10°C

Like every main-range R&M display case, the RMQKZ holds the 2–10°C range. The temperature band covers:

• Refrigerated pastries — éclairs, cream puffs, choux

What is the difference between the RMQKZ (straight) and RMQKY (curved) front-open cases?

The front glass profile: RMQKZ has a flat straight panel, RMQKY has a curved panel. Same front-open service format, same temperature range, same widths. The RMQKZ is more economical and lines up cleanly in multi-unit installations; the RMQKY offers a wider viewing angle and a more premium silhouette.

Is this a refrigerated display counter or just a display shelf?

It is a fully refrigerated display counter. The interior is held at 2–10°C by a fan cooling system with a brand compressor. It is not a passive shelf or an ambient display case.

Can staff serve from behind this case?

No — the RMQKZ is front-open: the service panel is on the customer side. For staff-service-from-behind layouts, the rear-open models (RMXK, RMZJ) are the correct choice — see the straight rear-open cake display cabinet.

What defogging does this series use?

Air-duct defogging — a stream of slightly warmed air directed across the inner glass surface prevents condensation. The same system as the curved RMQKY front-open series.
