🌸 Mochi DonutPon de ring format driving dessert menu growth worldwide

Which donut machine should I buy for a new donut shop?

Start from your peak-hour demand rather than daily total. A shop serving 200–400 donuts across a lunch rush needs a double row automatic machine; one selling 50–80 as a café add-on is well served by a single row or semi-automatic unit.

The second question is product range. If you plan to sell only ring donuts, a standard machine is sufficient. If mochi or ball donuts are on the menu, choose a three-shape model — retrofitting is not possible.

What is the difference between a donut maker and a donut fryer?

A donut maker combines batter dispensing and frying in one unit — batter goes into the hopper, finished donuts come out the conveyor. A standalone donut fryer only fries; the dough or batter must be formed separately using a depositor or by hand.

Complete machines suit cake donut production. Standalone fryers are used in yeast donut lines where dough is sheeted, cut and proofed before frying.

How much donut equipment do I need to start?

The minimum viable setup is a donut machine, a mixer for batter or dough preparation, and a display case. Filling injectors, glazing units and proofers are added as the product range expands.

For yeast donut production the equipment list is longer — sheeter, cutter, proofer and conveyor fryer are all required before the first donut is made.

Can one machine make ring, ball and mochi donuts?

Yes, on models supplied with three mold sets. The mold swaps out in under five minutes with no tools and no recalibration of frying parameters. This covers ring donuts, ball donuts (also used for loukoumades and donut holes) and mochi pon de ring.

Gas or electric — which is better?

Gas models recover oil temperature faster between batches and typically cost less to run where LPG or natural gas is affordable. They draw only 50W for the motor and controls.

Electric models give more precise thermostatic control, require no gas connection or flue, and suit enclosed kitchens. Dual fuel models switch between both, protecting production where either supply can fail.

Do you supply donut molds and spare parts separately?

Yes. Replacement molds (25mm, 35mm, 45mm ring, plus ball and mochi sets), hoppers, heating elements, conveyor belts and control panels are all available as spares. Specify your machine model when ordering.

Can R&M supply OEM or custom donut machines?

Yes. R&M provides OEM and ODM manufacturing including branded panels, custom voltage and frequency, non-standard mold dimensions, four-row upgrades on double row platforms, and mini donut configurations on the industrial machine. Contact us with your specification.
